RAINFOREST PREMIER SUITE STAYCATION REVIEW
To cater to all ages and budgets, NTUC’s Club D’Resort has been undergoing the redevelopment project since 2012. Along these years, it stood firm as an escapade away from the city life.
Aiming to bring the guests closer to nature while providing modern and convenient facilities in their family-friendly designed theme rooms, suites and integrated water park feature to disconnect families and friends from the usual hustle & bustle with a great adventure for everyone!
In total, it offers 387 contemporary larger rooms across nine room types satisfying every guest for any occasions needed. Below image shows the layout of the Rainforest Premier Suite on level 5 of the hotel block which you will require a special hotel card to tap up in the lift.
STAY
With an ample size of 86 sqm, we were prepared to lose ourselves into the most luxurious room in D’Resort.
The Rainforest Premier Suite just liked any other 5-star hotel promise a great space, a walk-in wardrobe and even an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi! The mere difference between this room and its junior suite (57.6sqm), is a day lounge area (the grassy carpet area) right beside the living room area.
All guests can expect both suites to have a living room, kitchenette and bar area for a complete resort stay over!
Enjoy the convenience of a microwave and NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Genio 2 machine and relax in the comfort of the suite with an entertainment system to wind down for the night! However, do take note that there are no BBQ pit bookings available for this room type. Right beside this dining area has an additional toilet as well.
We were so smitten over this stay as the impressive suite offers a premium experience and more up-market vacay compare to the rest of the chalet rooms. Fresh lemongrass scent filtered into the suite as we set foot into the large living area. And when we draw to open the window curtains, our eyes warmly feasted on the greenery and tranquillity of the nearby Pasir Ris Park with large flying giants domineering the tall trees surrounding the premises. Relishing quickly into our long-anticipated and rejuvenating retreat for our Babymoon…
The commodious bathroom consists of a luxurious Jacuzzi with complimentary sets of the highly raved Malin+Goetz’s toiletries. Using only natural ingredients for sensitive skins, their products offers women and men a beautiful sensory experience. Providing a ravishing luxury only to be found in upscale hotels, Rainforest Premier Suite offers an indulgence that resorts in Singapore can’t be compared with.
Need your own space even in the bathroom? Be glad to know that their standing bath area and toilet bowl area are separated via a glass panel.
This time since our first photo-taking site visit two years back, we finally have the chance to fill up the marble bathtub with bubbly water for a self-indulgence spa experience! And how much we adore the inbuilt windows that opened up a view to the room allowing us to continue our movies on the tv while half soaking in the warm tub! This absolutely made up the regret of us not able to head over to the Wild Wild Wet with a large tummy.
For our toddler, it was his best moment of the entire day apart from the comfortable rest (and hopping around) on the king-sized bed!
Take a look at our Short video of our staycation at D’Resort!
EAT
When it was time to fed the tummies, guests will never be out of choices as hopping over to the newly opened E!Avenue is a short 5-7mins stroll from the D’Resort linkway bridge (nearer to Wild Wild Wet water park) or if you don’t mind to walk a further more you can also easily reach the main E!Hub building ( maybe another 5 mins after passing thru E!Avenue).
What really makes Downtown East the perfect seamlessly nature-inspired resort with an integrated water park experience is its full complement of retail and food & beverage options, especially at the new E!Avenue.
Featuring more than 20 new F&B shops that include:
- MAN LE (Offers 30 over Teochew Porridge dishes for lunch and hot pot buffet for dinner – particularly worth checking out for a sumptuous spread of delicacies like braised chicken feet, pork trotters in black vinegar, and steamed fish.)
- Andres by Aston’s
- Herbs Bistro
- Eighteen Chefs
- Chain restaurants like McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut and Subway.
- All-day Cafes liked Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and The Heavenly Wang
- New bakeries that include Dora Keiki the perfect place for Japanese-style cakes and pastries lovers!
After a good rest from the first night, we went over to E!Avenue first thing in the morning to The Heavenly Wang for some local breakfast fix with some Laska, Mee Rebus and Mee Sian as many of the shops are not opened for the early risers.
CHEERS convenient store is available at E!Avenue, and there are another one more outlet perched within D’Resort for midnight munchies!
For the benefit of families with babies, the family friendly mall are well-equipped with nursing rooms on both levels with a seat and changing table.
To easily access to the water park, guests have a privilege short cut gate via the North gate right below the resort (the resort staff will inform you when you check in!).
As for E!Avenue, there are anther entrance to enter from the ground level. This image is taken when we were at the 2nd level of E!Avenue, and that’s how close we are to the water park!
Don’t feel like going further away from the comfort of your room? Alternatively, what we always suggest is to get your meals settled at the resort’s restaurant located near the Lobby at The White Tangerine! (You can find Cheers there too!)
First time there? Take our recommendation – the signature Fish & Chips and Nasi Lemak (with fish cake)! Prices are affordable and the food choices were suitable for families to munch-in or take away! Check out our spread on the first day with Carborana, Nasi Lemak, Fish & Chips and Chicken Chop!
