WANDERLUST HOTEL
Wanderlust; wan-der-lust(noun): a very strong or irresistible impulse to travel.
Feeling like you need a getaway but find it a hassle to travel out of the country? Or looking for an unforgettable staycation without burning a hole in your pocket? Have you heard of Wanderlust Hotel?
Situated along Dickson Road (a stone throw away from either Bugis or the Dhoby Ghaut/City Hall area), Wanderlust Hotel is by the same people behind New Majestic Hotel and Hotel 1929. A boutique hotel under the Unlisted Collection, it offers 29 different themed room across four levels. Each level features a thematic theme that reflects the award-winning Singapore design agencies behind them.
Lobby & Cocotte
Talk about the first impression, we were awestruck by the seamless combination of vintage furniture with the modern twist of industrial finish! And in case you haven’t heard, Cocotte (helmed by Chef Anthony Yeoh) is the place to go, if you’re looking for rustic French food in a casual and comfortable setting.
Pantone + Pantone Deluxe
Each of the 11 rooms on this level is themed by a single hue of colour and we managed to grab a glimpse into “Pantone Grey” which had a warm and cosy feel to it. Perfect for the couple looking to take a time-out from the hustle and bustle of working life!
Adding on the pampering experience, Shanghai Tang toiletries will be available for all guests to kick back and unwind in the whimsically designed bathtubs in each room.
The outdoor deck with a customized mosaic-tiled jacuzzi which is also on this level. If you are thinking of indoor parties and chilling area for gathering, this deck guarantees the best backyard view of the surrounding signature hdb flats and overseeing the roof of those antique shop houses.
Mono & Mono Deluxe
A quick look into the “Mono Pop-Art” room, a sharp contrast to the corridor outside which was painted in black. Each room’s design has its own individuality to them, for this one the bathtub is hidden behind the bed area. You may discover different animated scenes of stenciled art installations and special lighting systems allow guests to choose, via a click-wheel, four colours to ‘paint’ their room up.
Whimsical
This level features the “Whimsical” range of rooms which are basically, loft rooms. From the ASCII Room, you get to wander through a surreal fairyland to discover a giant monster holding up room lights, it was said that you might even puzzle up the hotel’s owner name from the letter blocks on the wall.
For We also managed to get a sneak peep into rooms such as “Treehouse” and “Typewriter”, really interesting rooms with their own bath tubs. I dunno about you, but having a bath tub in the room does spell pampering to me.
