In Eastern of Changi, lies a new poolside cafe with a splendid beachfront view. It resides within Civil Service Club Changi along Nevthevon Road and it’s more than just a poolside bar for finger food. The cool thing about Hornbill Cafe is it’s being a part of the growing F&B group in Changi that manages the popular hotspots liked The Coastal Settlement and Jubilee.
Similarily managed by Meyer House Resturant and bar (also found in CSC@Changi) you will find it’s rustic and relax settings, a common trademark in the mentioned F&B portfolio. For guests who is planning a family retreat within Civil Service Club Changi, the cafe offers an array of delectable and wallet-friendly light bites – plus an exclusive perk for our readers when you finish reading this!
Named after the usual birds seen fleeting about the trees around the clubhouse, Hornbill Cafe gives off a cozy and relax vibe in this tranquil part of Changi where you can expect a selection of salads, burritos wraps, pastas and local delights such as Fried Mee Siam with Shrimps to their all day brunch menu that features the classic items like Egg benedicts, Berries and Banana Pancakes and Jumbo Breakfast.
So LET’S not wait further, check out the 3 recommended dishes that you must try at Hornbill Cafe! (let’s go!)
Soup of the day | Mushroom soup | $6
Fresh from the oven by their in-house pastry Chef who oversees all the bakes and desserts, their soup of the day had the best bread bowl ever and we can’t stop raving about this starter. It’s not your typical over-baked outsource bread but hello to the fluffy and scrumptious buns we swear we ever had. Indulge into the fragrant creamy soup with plenty of mushroom chunks fit for 2 persons serving!
Jumbo Breakfast | $14
You can always trust the classic hearty wholesome breakfast served with mixed salad, turkey ham, chicken chipolata, toast, baked beans, sauteed mushroom and hash browns. Munch on their golden bacon strips sprinkled alongside with the twin sunny side up – that adds a savory crisp to the ultimate essential meal of the day! If you are looking at getting the same set as us, it’s just $2.50 more for the extra egg.
Fried Mee Siam with shrimps | $8
If you are tired of western fares, have a go at their signature scummy Fried Mee Siam with shrimps! Our vote on this – Meet the local Malay food with a unique touch of stir fried noodle rather than the conventional ones with tangy sauces. Being their signature dish among the light bites from this poolside cafe, this is also a fave dish by even their own staff. So coupled with a jug of their homemade lemon tea ($8 – good for 4) for a great combination to a decadent meal by the pool.
