However, strategically located on the magnificent Pasir Panjang Beach, overlooking the majestic South China Sea, here we found out that Bintan Lagoon Resort not only offers private golden sand beach that stretches nearly 1.5 km and 470 Indonesian style resort rooms that sprawled over 310 hectares of manicured gardens, this family holiday destination is packed with activities for kids. (really!)

What sets this family friendly Bintan resort from the rest is their own private ferry, landing directly at the resort doorstep to an unsoiled and safe from touts and outside visitors.

And so it was that our entourage boarded the ferry off to Bintan to dig out all the treasure deets of this family paradise. The package we had was their All inclusive Family Package which consists of everything you need for a family getaway! So, let us show you more!

BINTAN LAGOON RESORT: ARRIVAL

At the break of dawn, we arrived early at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore to board Mozaic Ferry Lines, the private ferry shuttled us to Bintan Lagoon Resort Ferry Terminal. Travelling was incredibly easy we merely took a snoozed then next moment, we have reached the doorsteps of our family HAVEN! (technically we slept for 75mins, good for a power nap!)

We are impressed that this turned out to be hassle free travel with kids. Once we disembarked, cross the iconic Bintan bridge, we entered Bintan Lagoon Resort through a modern and private international ferry terminal. The view of the charming resort and the enormous blue swimming pool greeted us as we boarded a mini-bus towards the main Lobby.

Traditional Indonesian style music and dancers, cold scented towels, and the friendly staff with refreshing coconut welcome drinks greeted us promptly. The airy, idyllic scenery and atmosphere at Bintan Lagoon Resort, especially the spacious Lobby hall had us at Hello!

With a quick glance, we saw that there were a recreational counter that shows plenty of Bintan activities that could keep our little one entertained during our 3 Day 2 Night stay under the All Inclusive Family Package, consisting of Stay (Deluxe Room with Breakfast Buffet), Travel (2 way Ferry Transport), and Activities (over 20 complimentary activities).

DELUXE ROOM

Other than plunging straight into 50 over activities at Bintan Lagoon Resort, what charmed our hearts were their overlooking verdant garden bedrooms. If you are a small family travelling with kids, the Deluxe Rooms will be your perfect resting place. Rooms liked these comes with your own private balcony, a marble toilet with comfy tub, and not forgetting their extra bed – platform bed in the sea-view rooms. Every part of this room screams VACATION TIME, as excited as we were when we opened our balcony door, we got our swimmers ready in no time! Though with much of rolling on the beds first of course

DELUXE TWIN ROOM & FOREST SUITE

In this trip, we took a short tour with their staff to view some of their other accommodations. Being one of the largest resort in Bintan, Bintan Lagoon Resort boost of 470 rooms in total Deluxe rooms come in King-sized and Twin-bedding configuration. Though we can’t help to mention that there were pretty lots of luxurious and stunning private villas dotted around the resort. All of which start with three bedrooms. The Angsoka Villas are their top-notch villa with their own private pool, garden courtyard, four bedrooms, fully operational kitchen and barbeque grill. So when it’s time for bed, Bintan Lagoon Resort makes sure they got every option covered with stunning views from the rooms.

HASKELL’S: 1ST DAY lUNCH

Located at the Golf Clubhouse, this Bintan restaurant boasts spectacular views of the fairway where we unwind after we explored the grounds of the resort. Serving a wide range of Asian, International & Western Cuisine, a great meeting venue for golfers or families to enjoy a idyellic day overlooking the greenery of the golf course.

We selected 3 different dishes to curb our hunger of the day! Check out the Indonesian Style Nasi Lemak, Mild Spicy Buffalo Wings and Kids Burger with Fries to fuel up our day for more exploration of BLR.

NELAYAN: 1ST DAY DINNER

A highly recommended restaurant from us to dine in Bintan Lagoon Resort, Nelayan features a stunning floor to ceiling windows which posied on a stretch of private soft sand beach. It invites guests with a spectacular amphitheater of the vast South China Sea which has a whimsical mood for families to linger and relax.

We absolutely loved the splendid beauty of the sun setting moments at dusk when the LED light lit up on our table and among the bar chairs, definitely the perfect time for their in-house wine to complete the day! And you might just catch some hermit crabs crawling along the coastline too!

What’s a fiesta without lively music? A live band entertains while you are at lunch and dinner. As a family friendly resort, the interests of children are their main concerns as well, in Fiesta little ones can help themselves to the separate kids’ buffet designed with reachable levels.

This bright, vivacious atmosphere excluded lots of light shining through glass panels radiating a colourful tropical buzz, and it felt liked paradise having breakfast at the gorgeous restaurant, Other than the killer view of the magnificent South China Sea, we could see early morning swimmers frolicking under the swaying coconut trees below. Somewhere we rather be any time of the stay…

True enjoyment of dining experience at Bintan is their delectable spread , our pick would be this this Terrance Sports Bar perched within the resort’s main lobby alongside the shopping alley. It comes with darts machine and even shisha for the older ones to hang out at. Invest in some quality alone time when the kids are busy at the Kids Club. Catch up on some live games played on the 5 big screen TVs or relax in the outdoor area again offering the smashing sea-view.

VERANDAH: Poolside cafe

With a summer splash of sunlight, pool and fun, our stay had the perfect weather! We had our poolside snacks at Leisure Centre while our little one takes his frolicking time very serious here. At Verandah, guests can choose from a range of signature salads, or create your own fresh, healthy wholesome meals. You can either lay yourself on the recliner or stay indoors to dine at the tables but always put on mossie patches here! We got fed and we fed many too!

MOJO: pick and go

Tucked away in a cosy corner of the lobby, there is no better place to sit back and watch the world go by at MOJO cafe. First thing, that caught our attention was their Popcorn and Candy Floss machine! They served freshly brewed coffee and a fabulous array of baked cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and smoothie too. Suddenly lost sight of your kids upon check in/out, just turn your heads and you know where to find them. By the MOJO’s popcorn cart we are sure!

PLAY & FUN:

Kids of all age will love the freedom of maundering across the volume of space beachfront and Bintan Lagoon Resort’s Leisure center – imagine an indoor leisure facility that offers over 50 Bintan activities to keep the little ones entertained during your stay. What more could you hope to have for your family?

If you decided to stay on land, there are a myriad of activities planned for those who have older kids, try out the All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), Archery, bike tours, table tennis, beach volleyballs, basketballs, Billiards/ Snooker and kids golf!

Let the little ones have fun at the Jungle Gym with ball pits and slides similar to any indoor playground we have in Singapore. For parents who needed their couple time, there are the Kids Club with staff to nanny your darlings. You can also engage them with batik painting, crafts making, building sandcastles, amusement arcade or board games to keep their little hands occupied.

Alternatively, there are two charming swimming pools to dip into, especially the one at Leisure Centre comes with two huge slides and mellow steps safe for kids if they prefer not to be in the sea. Keep a look at the water balls by the pools, those are highly addictive!

If you are adventures goers, plunge into any one of the exciting water sports such as Banana boat ride, Kayaking, Surfing, Wake boarding and Jet Ski. Any of these family friendly aqua activities can be booked at the recreational counters in the Lobby.

CHECK IN TIME: Bintan is 1 hour behind us, so meaning if Singapore is 4pm, in Bintan time you will be 3pm, and check in time is 3pm in Bintan and their standard Check out time is 11 am, which is 12pm in Singapore.
CHILD POLICY: Only 1 child can stay for free (4 years old and below only). 2 adults 2 children requires an additional bed. Extra bed charges are SGD$60++ per night. No extra bed required if only 1 adult and 2 children.
CLIMATE: Delightfully tropical with occasional showers all year round, we experienced several showers during our stay and the rain does come by fast here, but fret not as there are plenty of indoor activities in case of sudden downpour. The dress code is resort style and relaxed while Smart casual dress is recommended for dinner.
LANGUAGE: English is widely spoken throughout the resort.
CURRENCY & PAYMENT: Indonesian Rupiah is the only acceptable currency, as are all major credit cards. Credit card transactions are charged in Indonesian Rupiah at the hotel’s current billing rate. Additionally, the hotel provides foreign exchange services at the main lobby. (see image below). our experience was 1 Sg Dollar to 9300 Rupiah.
ELECTRICITY: 220V – 50Hz. The hotel has a range of adaptors available for guest use, and they uses three pin plugs here too.
