The idea of having a bit of everything on a single serving indeed sounds super satisfying and tempting to us. The best way to eat in a communal way is sharing (sharing is caring!). Right here in the newly opened Dallas Restaurant and Bar, proudly perched among the top-notch restaurants at the Suntec City Sky Garden; launched a second outlet apart from their popular Boat Quay outlet , is seriously serving up some scrumptious mixed grill menu with a rack of savory meat platter for two or four.
Grilled Australian lamb cutlets, a row of either Tangy sweet berry glaze or fiery BBQ Pork ribs, roasted Rotisserie chicken with delish special sauce, and medium-rare Prime rib steak at 250g then alongside with a generous slab of roasted potatoes brilliantly accompanied by mushroom or black pepper sauce.
Our taste buds are here for a challenge to try out their new delish menu and bar bites in celebration of their 10th Anniversary, and there’s no turning back when we had the dishes out on our table, the mouth-watering chase is on and here’s our verdict!
Set in a contemporary decor, lined with exquisite glass house design of the Suntec City area, this white cloth table restaurant and bar offers a stunning 360-degree pananomic view from the Sky Garden. With an eye-catching shimmering pool featured out at the large al fresco space, it flaunts of a stunning dining area indoors with a marble top island bar in the center.
Elegant furnishings, leather upholstery chairs, polished hardwood floors and high ceiling, this is where you can afford some striking panorama view of the Marina Bay skyline during the evening while sipping a fuzzy cocktails or wine. Undeniably this Dallas Restaurant & Bar in Suntec City Sky Garden will become the next hotspot for sporting events (Large TV screens at the bar) or the best seats for the annual Night Race period.
We were lavished with savory bar bites even before the real deal were out, and these dishes set the standard of how orthodox finger-licking bites should be, carefully curated to pique the guest’s palate.
First out, comes the chunky pieces of deep-fried snapper which a spread of homemade pineapple chutney, pinch of spanish onions and cabbage on top of the taco, some drizzled of spicy Chipotle mayonnaise and strips of baby radish all combined to become a highly addictive one.
We were told to hold it with our hands instead of using the cutleries to enjoy the whole experience (mouth wide open, and nom). If this was the only dish served during the review, we would have been contented as it was indeed a tasty treat. The snapper was incredible with the sauce pairing while the spanish onion and chipotle mayo fire up our taste buds and before we finished, we already desired for the next one. Priced at $22 for 3 pieces.
Next up, came the crispy pork belly tacos, which was slightly over- roasted on the skin which I personally had a slight moment of not being able to chew on but the guacamole spread and homemade aioli prompted me as our second favorite dish of the night. It had a generous portion of the juicy pork belly that had almost the same size of the tacos that wrapped it. It was garnished with pickled Spanish onions and slices of fresh Jalapeno which gave a dash of delish to the juicy meat. Real big Jalapeno, so expect another addictive Mexican-inspired finger food! Pricing at $14 for 3 pcs.
These breaded mashed spuds mixed with bechamel sauce , shredded cheddar and chopped pickled jalapeno peppers were soft and fluffy in the core but we didn’t taste any heat in this, totally good to go if you have kids here. Even though we may think this ball of potato’s taste was slightly less of a surprising contrast to the previous two super addictive dish but we like the green chili mayonnaise that pairs with it. For the price of $15 for 4 pieces, we think it’s worth it, whipping up such quality sauces in all their bar bites.
You shouldn’t leave the restaurant without having a roasted sweet corn. Topped with Chipotle mayonnaise and sprinkled with parmesan cheese, brought us back the same spicy kick similar to the snapper taco. The sweet corn was perfectly grilled, and juice oozed out when we had our teeth sunk in. If you love food with a tinge of tanginess that might trigger a serious food lust after (we are so mouth-watering now), then you definitely should give these a try. You can own this at $6 per pcs.
Last but not least, we could only say the lamb cutlets from down under were perfectly grilled and meat were soft and doesn’t reek of any conventional mutton smelt, the meat was fabulous even without any sauce pairing. The half slab of pork ribs was richly tenderized with either a choice of tangy sweet berry or fiery BBQ sauce and to seriously cut down on chili for the night, we had the latter. And if you aren’t a fan of lamb or steak, go for their Rotisserie chicken which was soaked overnight in their special sauce before it was finished off with a dry chili rub and sent to the oven for a three-hour roast. However, as steak-lovers, we felt completed with their lightly seasoned and 15 hours slow roasted medium-rare 250g juicy prime rib steak.
The Dallas meat platter comes in either two for $70 or four for $130, for either price and large spread this is prominently the place to be replete with quintessential grilled meats! (don’t forget a glass of chilled pulled brew and over 40 carefully curated labels all the way from Australia and New Zealand as well as a mundane selection of Champagnes ranging from $13 to $18 per glass)
