If you have been an avid follower of Disney movies all along your years of growing up to having your own kids, then this show is perfect for you!
The musical ambience was above the roof when we entered the theatre at Marina Bay Sands, projecting on the red curtain was the iconic outline of the world famous… Mickey….. mouse! Engaging and entertaining with its gang in a rockin and rolling Disney musical suitable for all ages! The show started with Mickey, Minnie, Groofy and Donald with their rock notes emceed on a fantastical opening for the music festival. It had non-stop infectious music that kept us on our seats jamming with the harmonious numbers. Music style ranges from remixed to the hottest sounds of today featuring hip-hop, pop, swing, reggae, rock, country and of course, Disney themed songs.
Our toddler gave the numbers a knee bending sway when Aladdin and Genie hopped onto the stage with “Never had a friend liked me“. Even though the one year old have not watched the Disney’s signature movie voiced by one of our favourite actor Robin William but it had him waving in the air! A mini re-enactment of the movie, with Aladdin and Jasmine singing their love numbers while floating on their magical carpet brought us goosebumps to the oh SO familiar “A Whole New World“. (We so had the lyrics back of our head!)
Next on, came Mickey and Groofy trying to hack open a life-sized shell with a gigantic fork to find a surprise guest – Sebastian the lobster from The Little Mermaid instead of Minnie mouse! Even more irresistible our shoulders groove along when the gorgeous mermaid sisters came with a burst of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and we were taken in surprise by how the little toddler’s attention remain sticky-glued to the colourful performance on stage! Right before and after the intermission, in came Ariel, Ursula and Prince Erik in their re-told of the little mermaid story of how Ariel sacrificed her voice to Ursula just to have a pair of legs to win the prince’s heart and eventually turned into a happy ending when the prince gave her a true love kiss! Like any other princess-wanna-be we too had our moments of reliving our inner childhood fantasy!
Mickey and gang delivered an awesome interaction time with the little audiences with guessing games. Toy story characters also came onboard throwing space balls across the theatre, which made the little ones overwhelm with excitement touching the balls! Musical nowadays, or we can say music shows for kids definitely require such high level of inter -movement with the audiences to give a lasting memory to bring home to, and Disney Live did not at all disappoint.
It’s an absolute fast-paced, core-entertaining, music festival for all ages, with 25 characters cast to keep you off the seats and up on your feet to pop up or swing with them. Not only brought to us a magical moment this season and great performance (with a relatively ample interval in between) to the rest of the kids in the theatre, which was an adorable sight to witness – kids jumping off their seats and dance their toes off while mimicking the actions from the stage.
So head down for some serious fun in this holiday season, Disney Live will be closing on 29 Nov 2015, so hurry grab your tickets now!
